Meghan Markle stuns in gorgeous red gown as she swaps royal life for super-glam Hollywood life
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry looked like they had stepped out of an old Hollywood film as they glided hand in hand into the Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall this week.
Smiling, glowing and looking totally in love, the couple went with red as the fashion theme of the night, with Meghan sporting a beautiful scarlet gown by Safiyaa and Harry in his Captain-General of the Royal Marines uniform.
Meghan's exquisite dress had a cape-like detail around the shoulders that she paired with matching Aquazzura heels, a red, satin Manolo Blahnik clutch, and bold floral beaded drop earrings by Simone Rocha.
The dress retails for $1,693. Her usually wispy hair was flat ironed for the event and she wore it tucked behind her ears. She went quite natural on makeup and wore a beautiful smokey brown eye and a barely-there but glossy lip.
Social media was abuzz in praise of Meghan's look — calling it a truly iconic way to bid goodbye to this part of her life.
The couple has been making back-to-back appearances this week at multiple events with the last one being the Endeavour Fund Awards, where they appeared together on Thursday night. Meghan wore a blue Victoria Beckham t-shirt dress and dark pumps.
Their next event as a couple will be on March 9, at the Commonwealth Day's Westminster Abbey service. They will be joined by the Queen and other senior royal family members, including Kate Middleton and Prince William.
The Mountbatten Festival of Music showcases the talents of the Royal Marines in terms of musicianships and features a wide variety of musical styles. All proceeds from the event go to The Royal Marines Charity and CLIC Sargent.
This appearance was part of the final engagements of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex before they step down officially as senior royals on March 31.
