Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been mocked after they failed to register a website for their new Archewell charitable foundation.

Fans and followers who typed in www.archewellfoundation.com are diverted to a YouTube video of Kanye West's old track 'Gold Digger', which features Jamie Foxx. Harry and Meghan had announced that they were launching a new charitable foundation called Archewell, but failed to register the domain name.

Many eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed the embarrassing mishap and took to commenting across social media platforms. One such fan shared, "Uh oh. As of 7 April, if you enter in archewellfoundation.com in your browser, it actually links to Kanye West's Gold Digger video on YouTube."

Another tweeted, "So. Meghan and Harry leave the UK to raise their son in privacy. They move to LA. No, we aren't going to launch a foundation. 2 wks later they announce The Archewell Foundation. If u type archewellfoundation.com YouTube plays Golddigger by Kanye West. Hilarious. 10/10."

A third amused social media user shared, "Hahahah whoever did this on Meghan's and Harry's website is a genius." While a fourth social media user chimed in, "Ahahahahahahaha. Talk about a "Freudian Slip" that' perfect!"

We had previously reported that the couple had recently revealed that they "look forward" to getting started with the new foundation that will replace their Sussex Royal brand. The couple also shared that they have plans to incorporate their own charity as well as a website in their new venture.

Harry and Meghan also disclosed why they chose the name, 'Archewell', and said the Greek word 'Arche', which means a source of action, was the inspiration behind the name of their son, Archie. Details about the non-profit have been delayed given the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple had released a statement where they said, "Like you, our focus is on supporting efforts to tackle the global COVID-19 pandemic. But faced with this information coming to light, we felt compelled to share the story of how this came to be."

"Before SussexRoyal, came the idea of “Arche”, the Greek word meaning ‘source of action. We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name," the statement read.

"To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right," added the statement.

The current LA residents also received a lot of backlash from social media users after revealing the name of the charity foundation while British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was admitted to the ICU as he battles the deadly coronavirus.

Many people felt that Harry and Meghan's post was announced at an insensitive time. One upset user shared, "Does she care? On the night, the #British #PM is in #ICU, #MeghanMarkle announces the name of her charity '#Archwell'. Wow! #Megxit sufferers can go to sleep & look forward to #ArchieDay. Thank you very much, #Meghan! Where's the #getlost button?"

Another user added, "PM Boris Johnson is in ICU. UK has över 5k deaths and is in lockdown. Meghan & Harry: Let's make this about us, again."
