Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new charity organization Archewell has had its application denied "due to errors" and has suffered a major setback.

Harry and Meghan had filed a lot of paperwork earlier this year for their charity foundation called Archewell. According to the US patenting and trademarking documents, the application has not been approved due to errors, Fox News reports.

A trademark attorney who had viewed the application had found that there were several issues that had to be fixed in six months or it would be "abandoned", as per a letter dated June 2, The Sun had revealed. The papers show that Harry and Meghan's explanation and description of Archewell's goods and services were required to be changed in around nine different areas as the current wording is "indefinite and too broad."

Harry and Meghan had also failed to sign the trademark application which made it "not properly verified". The pair's attorney will have to look into the application and made the required changes if they want to get the Archewell charity to start.

Earlier the couple had disclosed the meaning behind choosing 'Archewell' and said the Greek word 'Arche', which means a source of action, was the inspiration behind the name of their son, Archie.

In a statement to Fox News, the couple said, "We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon."

"Like you, our focus is on supporting efforts to tackle the global COVID-19 pandemic, but faced with this information coming to light, we felt compelled to share the story of how this came to be," the statement continued.

"Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right," the couple had revealed.

Harry, Meghan and their son Archie have left the UK and have settled down for a royal-free life in Los Angeles, California in the United States. The pair are currently living at a Beverly Hills mansion that belongs to Tyler Perry.

Though they have never met Perry, they were introduced via their mutual friend, Oprah Winfrey, Daily Mail had revealed. Perry's mansion boasts of eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms and is located on 22 acres on top of a hill in the exclusive Beverly Ridge Estates guard-gated community.

The Beverly Ridge Estates are close to the Van Nuys private airport and also to some of the best private schools on the Westside of LA. Many celebrities have owned homes in the community, such as ex-spouses David and Carlton Gebbia who were seen on the 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.'

A top Hollywood real estate agent Rochelle Maize from Nourmand & Associates Agency shared, "Beverly Ridge Estates has just 14 homes but is very prestigious and chic. There are not many rentals on offer there because of the limited number of properties."

"Leases start at around $20,000 and can go up to $40,000 a month. It costs around $16 million to buy a property there," Maize added.
