Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, was seen being protected by Barack Obama's former bodyguard Christopher Sanchez at the Invictus Games 2022 over the weekend. Sanchez has spent over two decades in national security, including five years protecting presidents.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are suing the UK government after their armed bodyguards were removed once the couple quit their royal duties and started living in the United States. The prince insisted that he "does not feel safe enough" to bring his family to the UK.

Ex-Secret Service agent Sanchez has provided protection services to former Presidents George Washington Bush and Barack Obama, besides protecting other rich and famous personalities. He is now a leading light at two high-profile firms based in the US.

Sanchez is the director of Professional Protection & Investigations that claims its insurance is "above industry standards." The Texas-based organization boasts of expertise in “hostage negotiations, criminal and forensic investigations, crisis management, [and] advance threat protection”. Moreover, Sanchez is also the vice president at a risk management firm, Torchstone. The firm is known for the expertise it offered at ten NFL Super Bowls and the previous four Presidential elections.

The Sussexes have signed a £113million deal with Netflix for filming a documentary at the Invictus Games.

However, it is undetermined if Harry is paying for Sanchez's services or if he was recommended by his previous employer Obama. The former president joined Harry at the Games in 2017.

Sanchez was first spotted keeping a protective eye on Meghan during the Games while Harry took part in the Land Rover Challenge at the event in The Hague, Holland. Sanchez then joined the Duchess as she was driving around the site in an electric golf buggy, on Saturday.

On Sunday, April 17, Sanchez guarded the British Embassy tent where Meghan took part in a reading class. Meghan grabbed eyeballs at the event in a stylish £1,944 white blazer by US designer Brandon Maxwell.
