The Royal Family has been making headlines over the past few weeks for several reasons, most of which have not been too positive.

With Prince Andrew being fired from Buckingham Palace to Andrew's latest disastrous interview with BBC where he dished on his association to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, to Megxit, the royals have raised a lot of eyebrows.

There were also a couple of reports that the Queen had lost some control over her family. This led to the question if Prince Charles and the Queen should abdicate the throne to let the younger generation take over. Royal expert Penny Junor speaks to MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) exclusively and shared that even with all the turmoil and chaos, "I don't believe that anyone should abdicate".

"That is not the way our constitutional monarchy works. The Queen vowed to serve the country her whole life, be it short or long. It has been very long but while she still has her health, both mental and physical, I can see no reason for her to step down for anyone younger," Junor shared.

When asked whether this would be a good time for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton to take over, Junor shared that as tempting as that option would seem to many, " I don’t think it would be the right thing". Junor explained that Prince Charles has been "preparing for the top job all his adult life. He will be the best-prepared monarch Britain has ever had, and in my view, he will make a very good king. And I think that any lingering negativity towards him will evaporate".

She went on to say that it is not known exactly when Prince Charles will be taking over. When it comes to Prince William and Kate, Junor shared, "William’s children are young; it is good for him to have some time with them before his life is completely taken over with the duties of being sovereign."

Given all the recent controversies, Junor also suggested how the family can ensure they have a smoother year next year. "They should focus on their work, which they do so well and, whatever happens, however, they are feeling, resist the temptation to talk to the media!" she suggested.
