Television producer Nick Bullen has said he has no doubt that Prince Charles is heartbroken over Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey. On March 7, CBS aired the interview that saw Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sit down with Oprah in a tell-all interview that shocked the world. Harry said his relationships with father Charles and brother, Prince William, had been ruptured. Meghan added she felt isolated and miserable during her time with the family.

Talking to Fox News, Bullen said: "Imagine if any member of your family, especially your son or daughter, goes on television and says, ‘My relationship has broken down with my father?’ Even if it’s true, the world now knows. So I think the Prince of Wales must be heartbroken." The co-founder and editor-in-chief of True Royalty TV has been making programs about the royal family for almost two decades and has worked closely with Charles.

Prince William's 'not a racist family' reply was unusual, he's 'beyond livid' over Harry-Meghan interview: Expert

"I have worked with the Prince of Wales," he explained. "That’s been set in the public domain. And I can say he is anything but a racist. I have huge respect for him. He is a man driven by duty. And I have always viewed him as a great father to his sons over the years." Bullen continued: "As a matter of fact, when Meghan Markle’s father couldn’t attend the royal wedding, it was Charles who stepped in and offered to walk Meghan down the aisle."

"And from my understanding, he has always been welcoming of Meghan Markle. He wanted to make sure she didn’t feel alone. Whatever the relationship was between Meghan and her father, Charles wanted to be supportive for his son and new daughter-in-law." He went on: "I have no doubt in my mind the man cares about his son." "We’ve only really heard one side of the story. And so far, Meghan and Harry have won the PR war," Bullen said.

Earlier, William defended the family saying they were not racist. On Thursday, Prince Wiliam was visiting School 21 in East London to promote a children's mental health program along with his wife Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge. A reporter asked him a pointed question: “Is the royal family a racist family?”

William tersely said: "We are very much not a racist family." When asked whether he had spoken to his brother since the interview's broadcast, William said: “No, I haven't spoken to him yet but I will do."

"It was no secret, of course, that William and Harry had fallen out. Harry himself said they were on different paths," royal expert Katie Nicholl said. "But I think what has really upset William is Kate being dragged into the interview." She was referring to Meghan bringing up news reports that she had made Kate cried before her wedding during the interview. Meghan told Oprah that the truth was the reverse, and the Palace had not done enough to clear the air with the press.
