The difference in media treatment of President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump continues to irk many. In the latest example from the press, Biden was asked what he gave up for Lent when reporters caught up with him on a tarmac in Delaware. The questions Biden was asked, even though in jest, seem to reinforce what former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany once said. She claimed the press treats Biden much better than they ever did Trump.

As Biden was making his way on the tarmac, one reporter shouted, "Mr President, what are you giving up for Lent?" Biden answered, "I gave up all sweets for Lent, you have no idea how hard it is for me," as reporters around him chuckled. When the reporter asked in a follow-up question, "What's the first sweet you're looking forward to having?", Biden answered, "Ice cream."

Biden was also asked some tougher questions by other reporters, says Fox News. The president was quizzed on Trump potentially visiting the southern border, coronavirus, gun control, sanctioning Myanmar and when he would name a national cybersecurity director.

However, many social media users were offended at the lighthearted question for Biden as questions continue to be raised regarding the situation at the southern border of the United States. Some took to social media to call out the question, with one user tweeting, "You will never know how much I despise all of you. Shitty reporting when the border is a catastrophe. I hope little by little you lose your jobs and come down to earth where real people live. Riveting coverage of his love of ice cream. That takes real courage & intelligence."

Many took to comparing press questions for Biden as president compared to what his predecessor got, with one user tweeting, "That’s some hard hitting journalism, given the absolutely weak administration we have avoiding governing daily. Did you ask Nancy if she would share?"  Another said in mockery:"Really hitting him with the hard questions! Stunning and brave." One user said; "Maybe next year he could give up his abortion policy for lent." A social media also said, "Hard hitting. Brave. Stunning. Courageous. Speaking truth to the power. Fourth pillar of democracy. On behalf of the people."

Some users called out the reporters who tweeted out the story, with one user tweeting, "As the World Burns we wait with muted words and tortured breath for Joe to get his ice cream. But hey, at some point in Life that is all there is left...well, ice cream and being President. Lame. @JenniferJJacobs @ChrisStigall." Another user tweeted, "This is embarrassing for Bloomberg News @MikeBloomberg A senior WH reporter tweeting about the president and sweets? Where are the important stories that are affecting our country?" A user tweeted, ".@JenniferJJacobs, you're an embarrassment. How about asking him about his son breaking federal gun laws and Biden having FBI and USSS cover it up? Or maybe ask him about the crisis and chaos at the border, you lapdog hack."
