Katy Perry has fled Australia following coronavirus scare at a Sydney hotel where she was staying.

Perry was staying at the Park Hyatt in Sydney where actor Tom Hanks stayed just days ago before testing positive for COVID-19.

She was reportedly in "lockdown" before she was spotted leaving the hotel while covering her face with a massive pillow. She also reportedly canceled all her engagements in the country before fleeing.

The 35-year-old 'I Kissed A Girl' singer had flown into Sydney after she performed for a bushfire relief concert in rural Victoria on Wednesday, March 11, night. Perry is currently expecting her first child with fiance Orlando Bloom and was scheduled to do some interviews on Thursday, March 12, which she canceled as a precaution.

The decision to cancel her press interviews was also made after a coronavirus scare among record label staff, a source told Daily Mail. It was also reported that two employees at the Universal Music Australia building located in Woolloomooloo had been exposed to the virus, reports the Sunshine Coast Daily

Due to this, staff members were asked to quarantine themselves till Monday. According to a celebrity photographer who chose to be anonymous, Perry did not leave her hotel all day on Thursday. Despite this, Perry took to her Instagram stories to share a post from Circular Quay which showed the word "WASH" written in the sky.

She captioned the post, "rn [right now] in Sydney." However, it is not known whether she had taken the picture herself as the sky-message "WASH HANDS" was widely photographed by several people. Perry has not been seen out and about since the bushfire recovery concert in Victoria.

During her performance, she was gifted a toilet paper roll wrapped in a red bow by a fan as a joke about the toilet paper buying craze. Perry also shared that her parents were reluctant to make any physical contact with her during her pregnancy amid the growing coronavirus scare.

Many health authorities have advised the public to not shake hands, kiss, or hug in order to try and reduce the spread of the coronavirus. Perry said, "My parents fist-bumped me the other day. I was like, 'What? Okay. I don't know... cool'. I came out of them and everything, but I was like, 'Sure, yeah'. That's what watching the news forever will do, I guess!"
