'Pray for her precious legs to move again:' Jay Briscoe's wife shares distressing update about daughter

Ashley Pugh revealed that her daughter Gracie, 12 may not be able to walk again while another daughter, Jayleigh, battles some serious injuries

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: The wife of professional wrestler Jay Briscoe, Ashley Pugh, is pleading for prayers for her injured daughter after the tragic accident which took Briscoe's life. Pugh revealed that their daughter Gracie, 12 may not be able to walk again, while another daughter battles some serious injuries.

At around 5.30 pm, Briscoe was driving home from his daughters' cheerleading competition when he collided with another car in Laurel, Delaware. The reports said besides the death of the Ring of Honour wrestler another unidentified adult was also killed in the accident.

"We need prayers! Gracie is on her way into surgery on her back," Ashley Pugh wrote in a heartbreaking post on Facebook, for Gracie whose real name is Jamie Pugh. She continued, "Jamin would want the whole world praying for his little girl. WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF PRAYER!! Pray for the doctors and everyone working on her! Pray for her precious legs to move again! Pray for Jayleigh who has some pretty serious injuries, but is stable and resting! Pray for Gannon waiting at home! Pray for strength for all of us! We have a long long road ahead of us!." Ashley had earlier posted a photo of the family heading to the cheer competition and stopping for cookies along the way.



 



 

However, it still remains unclear what led to the fatal crash, but according to an emergency log obtained by the wrestling outlet Ringside News, a woman in another vehicle died at the scene. CBS affiliate WBOC said that "due to the tragic incident, the Laurel School District say they are closing schools on Wednesday, January 18," and that "schools will reopen on Thursday, January 19." Gracie also celebrated her 12th birthday on New Year's Day. Her mother posted on Facebook. "Happy Birthday to my sweet Gracie! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what 12 brings!."

Ashley's post generated lists of reactions and attracted people far and wide who prayed for the children. "My heart breaks for you and your family. I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending lots of prayers for your family and sweet girls," a user commented. Another wrote, "I don’t know where to start because no words seem to be enough but I am praying for healing for your girls and peace for you and Gannon. God, please give these doctors supernatural wisdom! Let them heal quickly. Surround them with your comfort and peace."
