SAN FRANSISCO, CALIFORNIA: Wrestler Jamin Pugh who is popular by his ring name Jay Briscoe died at 38 on Tuesday, Janaury 17. The wrestling star is currently signed to Ring of Honor and also works for New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Jay is also one of four wrestlers to have twice held the ROH World Championship alongside Austin Aries, Adam Cole, and Jay Lethal.
According to 411 Mania, he won many titles along with Mark Briscoe. They are 13-time ROH World Tag Team Champions, including their current reign. Meanwhile, Jay was also a two-time ROH World Champion and had a run with the ROH World Six-Mag Tag Team Titles with Mark and Bully Ray.

Jay died in a car accident in Laurel, Delaware, around 5.30 pm on Tuesday, reported The Sun. A tweet from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter read, "Tony Khan tweeted the death of Jay Briscoe in an auto accident. Two people in car died in an accident at 5:30 p.m. in Laurel, Maryland. Just horribly tragic news."

Jay and Mark made their debut for Combat Zone Wrestling at Delaware Invasion on January 20, 2001. The 38-year-old was also part of the Jersey All-Pro Wrestling. Ring of Honor and All Elite Wrestling promotions owner Tony Khan confirmed the death of the wrestler. Khan tweeted, "Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today. Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day.
