Rapper Post Malone got candid about his famous facial tattoos and revealed why he had got them in the first place.

He shared that he thinks he's an "ugly ass motherf*****".  The 24-year-old hip hop star opened up on feeling ugly and insecure while doing a cover interview for GQ Style. "I’m an ugly-a** motherf**ker. It does maybe come from a place of insecurity, to where I don’t like how I look, so I’m going to put something cool on there so I can look at myself and say, ‘You look cool, kid,’ and have a modicum of self-confidence when it comes to my appearance."

The singer's face tattoos read 'Stay Away' and 'Always Tired'. He also has a tattoo of an ace of spades card and a ball-and-chain flail which he says is a reference to his lifelong obsession with "knights and medieval times and ancient Egypt and ancient Rome and sh*t like that."

He recently added a circular saw with red blood coming out on his left cheek.

Malone who's real name is Austin Richard Post also got a tattoo to honor his music idols Kurt Cobain and Lil Peep. Besides talking about his face tattoos, Post Malone also opened up about mental health and the "sad times" in his life that have inspired some of his hit songs like 'Goodbyes'.

"Middle school, I would cry myself to sleep every f**kin' day. High school, the same thing. I tried to drink some beers to get rid of that sh*t, but it just never goes away. And, I don't think that's anybody's fault; it has to do with something predisposed in you," he shared. He also admitted that looking for help for such struggles is 'difficult'.

"I am, now -- I'm trying. It's difficult. Through my songs, I can talk about whatever I want. But sitting here, face-to-face, it's difficult," he continued.
