Anna Camp and Skylar Astin, who starred together in 'Pitch Perfect' and tied the knot in 2016, have split.

“We can confirm that we have decided to separate, and this decision was made mutually and amicably," read a joint statement from the former couple issued to various news outlets on Friday, by Camp's rep Jenny Tversky. "We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this transition.”

The couple who first met on the set of the first 'Pitch Perfect' film in 2012, started off as friends and began dating in June 2013. They also starred together in 'Pitch Perfect 2' in 2015 and worked together in the 2014 short film 'The Oven.'

Astin played Jesse, the love interest to Anna Kendrick's Becca, and Camp played uptight Barden Bellas leader Aubrey.

"We were friends first and just hit it off," Camp told the Glamour in 2014, adding Astin is "just so great."

"He was dating somebody, and I had been through a divorce (from actor Michael Mosley) and he was like, 'Do you want to go on a date?' " she revealed to Glamour. "I remember thinking, Well, he's younger than me. He's five years younger... But I was like, 'You know what? OK! Let's do it, let's see.' He's literally my best friend."

Camp and Astin had a California wedding in September 2016 after revealing their engagement in January of the same year.  "I asked. She said yes!!!" Astin shared on Instagram on January 2, 2016. In a 2016 interview with Popsugar Astin shared: "I knew the second I met her that I wanted to know her, and I just wanted to be in her life. I knew that. I never saw an end of wanting to be in her life, so to say that it's love at first sight, there's some truth to that. I think that I just can't imagine my life without her, so there's nothing I'd rather do than marry her."

Both Astin and Camp have unfollowed each other on social media and were last publicly seen together attending the Mickey’s 90th Spectacular in October.
