It's a boy! Pippa Middleton welcomes first child with husband James Matthews
Pippa Middleton welcomed her first child with her husband James Matthews. The couple welcomed a baby boy who weighed 8 lbs 9 oz on Monday at around 1:58 pm local time at the St. Mary's Hospital in London.
As reported by People, a source shared, "Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well".
Kensington Palace released a statement on behalf of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton which read, "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are thrilled for Pippa and James".
This newest addition to the Middleton family will make Kate an aunt for the first time.
Pippa followed in Kate's footsteps and gave birth to her baby in the Lindo Wing of the St. Mary's Hospital which is the same place that her sister Kate gave birth to her three children: George, Charlotte, and Louis.
Earlier, a source had shared that Pippa and James are looking forward to settling down and "having children and leading a quiet life". Pippa and James got married last year on May 20 at the St. Mark's church in Englefield.
Unlike her sister Kate, Pippa shared that she had no morning sickness and had a very relaxed pregnancy. On her column, 'Waitrose Kitchen', she revealed that she stayed very active during her pregnancy and documented her fitness routine. "I was lucky to pass the 12-week scan without suffering from morning sickness. That meant I was able to carry on as normal," Pippa shared.
