The popstar Pink recently announced that she had tested positive for coronavirus along with her young son Jameson. However, she is now thankfully out of danger after subsequent tests for the deadly virus turned out to be negative. The world-famous pop star revealed that she was donating $1M to COVID-19 relief efforts. Half-a-million would go to Philadelphia's Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund, since her mother had worked there for 18 years. Pink also promised to donate another half million to the Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund and encouraged her followers to fully realize the gravity of the world's current health situation.

"Two weeks ago my three-year-old son, Jameson, and I were showing symptoms of COVID-19. Fortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive," the 'Sober' singer posted on her Instagram account, along with a photo of herself and Jameson. "My family was already sheltering at home and we continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor. Just a few days ago we were re-tested and are now thankfully negative."

"It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible," the emotional 40-year-old star added. "This illness is serious and real. People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends, and our communities."

Pink then revealed that she would be making financial contributions to COVID-19 relief in order to do her part in fighting the deadly virus.

"In an effort to support the healthcare professionals who are battling on the frontlines every day, I am donating $500,000 to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia in honor of my mother, Judy Moore, who worked there for 18 years in the Cardiomyopathy and Heart Transplant Center," Pink said. "Additionally, I am donating $500,000 to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund. Thank you to all of our healthcare professionals and everyone in the world who are working so hard to protect our loved ones. You are our heroes! These next two weeks are crucial: please stay home. Please. Stay. Home."

There are currently more than 1M documented coronavirus cases worldwide.

Fans on social media were quick to respond to Pink's announcement with messages of thanks, support and love. "So glad you and Jamo are negative now. Thank you for supporting our healthcare professionals during these difficult times. Everyone needs to stay home if they can," said a grateful follower.

An ardent fan said, "Thank God you're both ok now. Stay safe and amazing donations! What a scary time for all of us... we got to try stay positive though."

"Your story gives hope that if you get the virus, you can recover," another grateful fan said.

A well-wisher sent the singer her best regards, saying, "Sending you family much love, I'm so glad you have come through this. Stay well," while another Pink admirer posted, "You are an inspiration and have a big big heart."

Let's thank our lucky stars Pink and her family are okay and may we look to her as an example while doing our bit to fight the spread of coronavirus.
