Miss World 2019: Fans slam organisers for picking Piers Morgan as 'head judge'
Miss World 2019 is set to crown its winner but before that the top five had to answer some burning questions that Piers Morgan had in store for them. Morgan announced that he would be acting as the head judge for the show through a tweet which read, "BREAKING: I will be head judge at this year’s Miss World ceremony on Saturday in London."
He captioned the tweet along with a picture that read, "Piers Morgan VS The World". Throughout the questioning, Morgan made sure that the contestants stuck to the question that was asked to them. Morgan even tried to make a joke on himself as he stated that he is himself even though many people wouldn't want him to be.
While some chose to laugh at his jokes it seems like many were upset that Morgan was chosen as the head judge. Morgan has been at the center of controversies for quite some time and it does not come as a surprise that people have these views.
He is known for his blunt and straightforward remarks and it looks like fans are not too happy that Miss World chose him as the head judge. Many took to social media to express their disappointment over this. One user wrote, "Those camel Toe suits are not what I expected from a miss world contest, I thought it was about respecting women, not portraying them like this #sigh women’s rights."
Another added, "So sexist, getting some dried-up old prune like Piers Morgan to host Miss World! The whole thing is so cringing! #missworld."
Another echoed similar thoughts as the comment read, "miss world supposed to be progressive and empowering for women but they still have piers morgan on the panel. lmao, this is why I'll never take this shit seriously."
