Piers Morgan slams Emma Watson after she calls her relationship status 'self-partnered': 'I can't deal with these moaning celebs'
Piers Morgan just took a cheeky shot at Emma Watson. After the Harry Potter actress described her single status as "self partnered", it did not sit well with the popular 'Good Morning Britain' host.
The actress, who will turn 30 in April, opened up to Vogue about her fears for reaching the milestone.
"I never believed the whole 'I'm happy single' spiel," she said. "It took me a long time, but I'm very happy [being single]- I call it being self-partnered."
But Piers slammed the phrase rather ruthlessly.
"What does it all mean? it's rubbish," he asked co-host Susanna Reid. "I can't deal with these moaning celebs."
Nonetheless, Susanna threw her support behind Emma. According to her, the stunning actress has put a "positive spin" on things.
Emma said she feared turning 30 due to the "b****y influx of subliminal messaging" that implied a woman should have "a husband, baby, and stable career".
"I was like, 'Why does everyone make such a big fuss about turning 30? This is not a big deal', cut to 29, and I'm like, 'Oh my God, I feel so stressed and anxious'," she said.
But the Harry Potter star, who shot to fame as Hermione Granger, was reportedly spotted kissing a mystery man outside a London bakery just two weeks before saying she was happy being "self-partnered."
Previously, 'The Beauty and The Beast' star was romantically linked to Dominic Piazza, after the duo was spotted together on several occasions in August.
Furthermore, she also had a brief fling with 40-year-old Brendan Iribe, former CEO of Oculus.
That said, this is barely the first time Piers has taken a dig at prominent personalities of late.
Morgan recently appeared to take a dig at Meghan Markle after realizing he was placed above Duchess of Sussex in a list of London's 100 most influential people.
The London Power 100 saw the British TV presenter placed at 21st, just above Markle's 22nd, thereby giving him a one-up over the Duchess whom he has been frequently critical of.
"What's good is that I'm in at 21... and oh Meghan Markle is in at 22 - that's awkward isn't it?" Piers, who just returned to the show after a week-long hiatus, said. "Obviously none of my work colleagues made the list, unfortunately."
