Piers Morgan calls Kim Kardashian 'creepy and wrong' for wearing Marilyn Monroe gown at Met Gala
Piers Morgan has made criticism on the 'talented' Kim Kardashian, following her decision to wear one of Marylin Monroe's legendary gown at the Met Gala this year. Kim wore Monroe's legendary skin-tight, light-pink, rhinestone gown to the May 2, Monday's high-fashion event. In 1962, Monroe wore the magnificent gown and sang President John F. Kennedy a happy birthday song.
In addition, the 41-year-old reality star and Skims tycoon now has additional Monroe memorabilia after a lock of Monroe's hair was given to her by Ripley's Believe It Or Not! museum, the same company that donated her the outfit. Morgan stated that the 'fetishization' of the tragic singer, who was a self-described 'waif' and died at 36 in an apparent suicide from sedative overdose after a number of failed marriages and shattered relationships, was 'creepy and wrong.'

Morgan and Kim have had a long-running spat since the television anchor called out the reality star for her sex tape in 2016. He went at the businesswoman again in 2019, calling her a 'talentless half-wit' when she was laughed off the stage at the Grammys, and he repeated the 'talentless' remark in 2020 when she became a billionaire. He wasn't shy about his criticism at the time, tweeting: "Says the woman who built her whole career off a sex tape. 🙄"

During the continuing Russia-Ukraine conflict in March, he slammed the 'entitled imbeciles' Pete Davidson and Kim. The 56-year-old former Good Morning Britain host slammed Kim, her ex-husband Kanye West, and her boyfriend Pete for making headlines during the war at the time. "At the same time as these three supremely rich, famous, entitled imbeciles are trading stupid insults, Ukraine is exploding with horrifying scenes of murder and mayhem," he said in a Sun piece.
Morgan isn't the only one who has chastised Kim for her choice of outfit for the yearly occasion. Kim was chastised by Riverdale actress Lili Reinhart for confessing to dramatically reducing her diet to get into her Met Gala gown, and she urged followers to "stop supporting these stupid, harmful celebrities."
In her Instagram stories, Reinhart, 25, appeared to respond to Kim's comments to Vogue on the Red Carpet, writing: "To walk on a red carpet and do an interview where you say how starving you are … because you haven't eaten carbs in the last month… all to fit in a f*****g dress? So wrong. So f***** on 100s of levels. To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala. When you know very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word. The ignorance is other-worldly disgusting." Reinhart then pleaded with her supporters to "stop supporting these stupid, harmful celebrities whose entire image revolves around their bodies."
"I am not generally an angry person but I swear to God, the toxicity of this industry sometimes really gets to me and I have to do my little Instagram-story rants to release my rage," Reinhart remarked. Ripley's Believe It Or Not! museum loaned Kim the famed gown for the evening, and they had a special surprise in store for her as well. They posted a video of the mother-of-four receiving a lock of Monroe's hair, which a Ripley's employee described as "either cool or very weird."
