Pierce Brosnan praises Trump, says US benefited at least on the economic front under his presidency
Pierce Brosnan, who had once said he would leave the US because of Donald Trump, has now acknowledged that there has been at least one bright side during his presidency — the economy.
As reported by The Hill, the 66-year-old shared with ITK in a recent interview, "I think what he’s done for the economy is very good. People are working, and that’s a step in the right direction." The 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' star added, "This country is part of my life. I’m an American citizen. I love America and America’s been very good to me. And I want to see happiness come back into our society."
Brosnan had taken on a much more different tone while talking about Trump last year during an interview with The Mail. He had said, "That man has torn this country apart and you have to work out how much longer you can stay here." He had also shared that Trump had to pay attention to climate change and had to support the rallying call of the young people.
"He has to get out of the coal business, the oil business. It’s just devouring the Earth around us. And there are other ways. We’ve seen it from other societies, other cultures," Brosnan had said. Brosnan did not reveal who he is rooting for in the 2020 presidential election. "I’m biding my time on that one. We shall see."
Very recently, Brosnan was seen in LA looking very sharp and dapper in a double-breasted jacket and trousers. The former James Bond actor was seen greeting fans and followers after stepping out in Beverly Hills last week. He paired his smart blazer with a crisp white shirt that he had left unbuttoned without a tie.
He finished his look with a pair of brown suede shoes and sported a pair of aviator sunglasses. His hair and beard looked perfectly groomed as Brosnan left a restaurant.
