Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith warmed many hearts as they wished each other on their 26th wedding anniversary on Thursday. The famous couple took to Instagram as they shared throwback snaps from the time they met in 1994 and eventually tied the knot in 2001.

"My darling angel heart Keely, thank you for bringing such love and beauty into my life, for making these past twenty-six years the greatest joy of my life...Happy anniversary my brown-eyed girl," Pierce, 66, wrote alongside a throwback photo of them beaming at one another from years ago.

Meanwhile, Keely responded to her husband with yet another photo of the pair.

"Still celebrating the day we met ...on a beach in Mexico. Happy 26th my love 4/8 (1994)," she wrote alongside the post.

The American journalist also uploaded another photo on Friday highlighting the stunning similarities between Pierce and their son Paris, 19. The famed actor made his James Bond debut the year after he met Keely. The doting couple eventually tied the knot in 2001 at Ballintubber Abbey in his native Ireland.

Brosnan was previously married to former Bond girl Cassandra Harris from 1980 until she tragically died of ovarian cancer in 1991. Pierce has three biological sons, two with Keely - Dylan, 23 and Paris, 19 - and 36-year-old Sean with Cassandra. He is also the adoptive father of Charlotte and Christopher Brosnan, Cassandra's two children from a previous marriage.

Both Charlotte and Christopher took Pierce's surname when they were adopted. In 2013, Charlotte just died of ovarian cancer -- just like her mother -- at the age of 42.

Pierce has often spoken of how Keely saved him from depression following the tragedies in his life. He has described her as a "strength I wouldn’t be able to live without."

What's more? The acting legend is also a proud grandfather of three: Charlotte's children Isabella, 21, and Lucas, 14, and Sean's daughter Marley May, 4.

Brosnan recently sparked a backlash after revealing his stance that he would support a woman playing the role of the 007 agent after Daniel Craig, who is set to appear in his fifth and final Bond film in 2020. "I think we've watched the guys do it for the last 40 years, get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there. I think it would be exhilarating, it would be exciting," Brosnan told the Hollywood Reporter.

The actor, who appeared in four Bond films between 1995 and 2002, however, admitted that he does not foresee the change happening under the franchise's long-time producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. "I don't think that's going to happen with the Broccolis. I don't think that is going to happen under their watch," Brosnan told the outlet.

The latest Bond film 'No Time to Die' made news earlier this year after it was revealed that 'Fleabag' and 'Killing Eve' creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge had been hired to screen the script to make it more respectful for women in the wake of the #MeToo movement.
