He appeared in more than half of the 202 episodes of the show. McKeon was only 12 years old when he joined the cast of 'Alice'. The show went on to become a massive hit and the former child actor rose to stardom with the role.

Several reports confirmed that the 55-year-old actor passed away on Tuesday and his death was announced by family spokesperson Jeff Ballard. He said, "We are all beyond heartbroken and devastated over Phil's passing," Ballard said in a statement.

"His wonderful sense of humor, kindness, and loyalty will be remembered by all who crossed his path in life." However, the family has not shared any further details.
