PETA receives backlash after stating Steve Irwin died while 'harassing a stingray'
Steve Irwin always played a crucial role in showcasing the friendly and beautiful side of wildlife. The legendary conservationist, and television personality, even got the name 'crocodile hunter' by the people to match his personality.
Unfortunately, his time with us was cut short when he Steve passed away at the age of 44 after being pierced in the heart by a stingray barb. The incident took place when Steve was filming an underwater documentary. This year Google made sure that Irwin was honored on the occasion of his 57th birthday. Google represented him in their Google doodle which depicted Irwin being surrounded with what he loved doing best - being among wildlife. People were quick to post their emotional messages on social media after seeing the doodle on the Google home screen.
