'Handsome' Matteo Berrettini hailed as 'most beautiful man to ever walk onto a tennis court'
As Novak Djokovic faced Matteo Berrettini in the men’s final at Wimbledon, fans of the Italian tennis pro seem to be more focused on his good looks than his game. Djokovic, of course, went on to win his 6th Wimbledon title and 20th Grand Slam title in four sets — 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.
“Well, it would mean everything,” Djokovic said. “That’s why I’m here. That’s why I’m playing.” Berrettini, the first Italian, man or woman, to reach a Wimbledon singles final, said, “I think I never dreamed about this because it was too much for a dream.”
Bloody hell. He may have choked today but Matteo Berrettini is bloody handsome. #Wimbledon

Who is Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini's girlfriend? Ajla Tomljanovic volleyed his heart
Berrettini, who won the Queen’s Club Championships in the lead-up to Wimbledon, was a fan favorite — he defeated Hubert Hurkacz in four sets in the semi-finals. He has, prior to the finals already delivered over 100 aces in the tournament. “My first final in Wimbledon, it’s just crazy to think about it,” said Berrettini.
“One of the best things I did in my career was I really trusted Vincenzo [Santopadre, his coach] when I was younger,” Berrettini said. “He looked at me and saw I was growing a lot, that I was becoming tall, and he told me: ‘Look, you’re going to be an aggressive player. You’re going to serve bombs and try to win the point as soon as you can.”
“I believe that, and my team believes that,” Berrettini said. “It took us a little bit of time, but now everyone is looking in the same direction, and it feels great.”
During the match, fans of Berrettini on Twitter are going crazy for a lot of reasons. And it’s not just his fans. Even Djokovic fans seemed to not be able to ignore his good looks. “Matteo Berrettini is beautiful but no Italians can win today!” one person tweeted. Another said, “I know I probably shouldn’t want an Italian to win today, but Matteo Berrettini is BEAUTIFUL.”
One person tweeted, “Was amused the other day to hear commentators describe Matteo Berrettini as a Roman god in human form. Beautiful, looking like he was chiselled from marble. He’s not wrong, the man is gorgeous. Just felt he might not have intended to say it aloud.”

Currently ranked No 9 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the 25-year-old player is dating Australian tennis player Ajla Tomljanovic.
