Wall Street Journal (WSJ) columnist Peggy Noonan offended a large portion of the internet on December 10, after her latest column trashing Vice President Kamala Harris. Titled, 'Kamala Harris Needs to Get Serious', the article slams the incumbent VP, amidst the multiple scandals and rating woes she's facing.

As we reported, Harris is currently battling several major crises at once. First, there's the rumor she's out of favor with President Joe Biden, who's made a point to ignore her during their public appearances together. Then, she's battling a mass exodus of employees from her office, after being called a "bully" for her "soul-destroying ways." On top of that, she's also facing her own set of gaffes and controversies, such as adopting a French accent during her trip to Paris in November.

It's no surprise then, that the VP has become a prime target for critics. From Tucker Carlson to Republican officials, everyone's got something to say about Harris, and it usually isn't kind. Noonan joined that long list with her latest WSJ column on December 10, absolutely trashing the VP.

'Nobody expects anything from you'

Taking note of Harris' abysmally low poll numbers (28% approval according to USAToday/Suffolk), and the many controversies she's battling, Noonan wrote "The good thing about having been killed is nobody expects anything from you because you’re dead." She went on to criticize, "She loves the politics of politics too much, and not the meaning... But even as she’s obsessed with the game of national politics she’s not so far particularly good at it."

It's not the first time Noonan has attacked Harris. While the VP was on the campaign trail in 2020, Noonan called a dance she did at an event in Jacksonville, Florida "embarrassing" and "frivolous." However, it wasn't all bad, in her December 10 column, Noonan also offered some advice to Harris, telling the VP to ditch her reliance "on her sense of her own personal charisma", and "embrace earnestness and humble" herself.

The column wasn't well-received, to say the least. The former speechwriter and assistant to President Ronald Reagan ended up being widely slammed and trolled. Here is just a small collection of what the internet had to say to Noonan.

'Who needs old white guys when we have dames like you'

The DNC Chair Jamie Harrison tweeted, "Preparing to dumpster drag the latest GOP trash piece from that lost relic of the 1980s, Peggy Noonan." Another user trolled, "God’s sake, Peggy Noonan. The 50’s called and even THEY don’t want you back." Another slammed, "Because she's "ungrateful", the 2021 word for "uppity"? Peggy Noonan needs to retire her mouth."

"Jeepers Peggy Noonan, VP Kamala Harris needs to act more "humble."? Who needs old white guys when we have dames like you to hold women back? (You don't mind "dame", right?)" another trolled. One user replied, "Black women do not need to humble themselves for the comfort of bigots like Peggy Noonan." Another noted, "In case you thought misogyny was limited to men, Peggy Noonan reminds you it is not."

"Irony: Peggy Noonan says it is time for VP Harris to get serious when NO ONE has taken Peggy seriously for years. She's like expired milk. Sour," one person mocked. Another tweeted, 'I believe Peggy Noonan has now set the record for number of people telling someone to shut the f--k up. Well done!"
