Pauly Shore hits back at Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscars jab involving ‘Encino Man’ co-stars Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pauly Shore, the 90s comedy star, is ready to make a comeback following the Oscar triumphs of his 'Encino Man' co-stars Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan. On Sunday, Fraser, 54, won Best Actor, and Quan, 51, won Best Supporting Actor. However, during the ceremony, host Jimmy Kimmel made a joke at Shore's expense, saying, "Two actors from 'Encino Man' are nominated for Oscars. What an incredible night this must be for the two of you and what a difficult night it must be for Pauly Shore."
In response, Shore said that the joke was not surprising to him, as people have always enjoyed tearing him down. He stated, "We love to hate people when they're on top. People wanted to smash me down, and they did. I was always nice to everyone, always cool, I put my heart into all my films." Shore added that being a celebrity meant that people were buying and selling a human being and that it's important to remember that human beings have feelings. He likened being a celebrity to selling real estate, saying, "It's not like selling real estate." Despite the joke at his expense, Shore stated that he was thrilled for his old co-stars and their Oscar wins. “It’s a big deal, I’m happy for these guys,” he expressed. “We did a movie together years ago and I’m glad that people still talk about it 30 years later. It’s crazy.”

But what I REALLY loved is that my old buddies from back in the day, Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan, took home the Oscars!

‘We want you back!'
"I truly miss acting and being on set, and I hope it happens again. It's about dreaming and hoping," Shore expressed. "People always say, 'We want you back!'"
At 17 years old, Shore graduated from high school in LA and began his career as a stand-up comedian. He later joined MTV as a VJ and appeared in movies such as Jury Duty' and 'Bio Dome.' "All of my movies had heart and a message, even Jury Duty!", Shore stated. "The movies I did stand the test of time."
Although he's currently touring his one-man show, 'Stick with The Dancing: Stories from My Childhood,' which is all about growing up in the late 1970s and '80s, Shore still desires to return to the big screen. He hopes that a director or producer will see a different side of him and cast him in an unexpected role. "The directors and producers are the ones with the vision. Someone out there will say, 'You know what, we're going to do something you wouldn't expect — we'll put Pauly in this role that no one would expect,'" Shore said. "That's where my heart is." Looking to the future, Shore expressed his determination to keep going and not give up on his dreams of returning to acting.
'Stick with The Dancing: Stories from My Childhood'
Shore's current focus is on his one-man show, 'Stick with The Dancing: Stories from My Childhood,' which is based on his experiences growing up in the late 1970s and '80s. His mother, Mitzi Shore, co-founded Hollywood's renowned Comedy Store, where legendary comedians such as Jay Leno, Robin Williams, and David Letterman got their start.
"The title of the show is something my mom told me after my first stand-up performance when I ended it by popping and locking," Shore shared. "I've had a microphone in my hand my entire life. I was practically born on the steps of the Comedy Store. Most people know me from my movies and MTV, but they don't know my roots. So, we're going to focus on the roots." Shore is also in talks with a production company to turn his one-man show into a television series.
