Paula Williamson, Charles Bronson’s ex-wife and Coronation Street actress, found dead at 38
Former Coronation Street actress Paula Williamson was found dead at a house in Sneyd Green, Stoke-on-Trent this morning, Staffordshire Police confirmed. She was 38.
The statement from the police with regard to Paula's death read: " woman from Stoke-on-Trent who was found dead this morning (July 29) has been named as Paula Williamson, aged 38. Paula’s body was found in a house on Gordon Avenue, Sneyd Green, at around 7 am."
Paula, who was married to notorious Ellesmere Port prisoner Charles Bronson, has had small roles as a Weatherfield Hospital nurse in three episodes of Coronation Street and played a stripper in Emmerdale, as well as a doctor in Hollyoaks, Birmingham Live reported.
The cause of her death has not been revealed, but the police stated that the case would not be treated as suspicious.
"A post mortem will take place to establish the cause of death but the death is not being treated as suspicious," the statement further read. "Next of kin have been informed. The family has asked for their right to privacy to allow them to grieve at this difficult time."
In 2017, Paula got married to Bronson in a prison ceremony and described their ceremony as any other marriage.
She always gushed about her love for Bronson and often spoke about him being quite different in person than what his persona looked like to others.
On countless interviews, Paula had mentioned how Bronson was a soft person, unlike the gangster image that he had created in front of others.
“I’ve had relationships with both men and women in the past but none of them come close to my love for Charlie," she said in an interview with The Sun.
She told the outlet that she had found her soulmate in him. “He’s so eccentric, but so am I. It’s a perfect match. I know he has a public image of being a violent prisoner, but in reality, he is so different."
Paula and Bronson became close as they first started writing to each other as pen pals. Paula even spoke about her engagement and cleared the air stating that it wasn't a publicity stunt and that they are really in love.
"I do know Charlie and this is the real deal. I'm very excited to be his fiance because I'm in love with the man and that's God's honest truth," she said at that time.
In March 2019 it was revealed that Paula was planning on divorcing Charles after he sent her a seedy catsuit to wear on her next visit.
