Paul Walker's daughter Meadow pays tribute to him on her 20th birthday, five years after he died in tragic car accident
Meadow, Walker's daughter from his relationship with Rebecca McBrain, celebrated turning 20 on Sunday, November 4 with a tribute to her late dad
November 30 will mark five years since the passing of 'The Fast and the Furious' star Paul Walker and for his daughter, Meadow, the memory of her father will especially be a painful one. The model turned 20 this Sunday, November 4, and celebrated the occasion by posting a tribute to the late actor.
In her Instagram stories, Meadow posted a picture of a single slice of cake with candles marking the fact that she turned 20 and was now officially out of her teens. Despite boasting close to 1.5 million followers, Meadow keeps a low profile on social media and only intermittently posts updates, that too almost always pertaining to her dad.
According to the Daily Mail, Meadow had only begun to connect with her father in and around the time of his death. His daughter with his one-time girlfriend, Rebecca McBrain, the 20-year-old lived with her mother in Hawaii for 13 years before moving into Walker's Santa Barbara, California home to live with him in 2011.
Unfortunately, tragedy would strike in the afternoon of November 30, 2013. Just that morning, Walker and Meadow had gone out for breakfast together and discussed plans to buy and decorate a Christmas tree. At around 3:30 p.m., he and good friend Roger Rodas left for an event for the actor's charity Reach Out Worldwide for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in Rodas' Porsche Carrera GT.

Rodas, who was driving the car at speeds between 80 mph and 93 mph in a 45 mph zone, lost control at a popular spot for drifting cars, and the vehicle crashed into a concrete lamp post and two trees and burst into flames. Both died on the spot and their bodies were burned beyond recognition.
In September 2015, Meadow filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche, claiming that the GT had numerous design defects, including "a history of instability, and that its seat belt placement can cause harm upon impact." The case would ultimately be settled between Porsche and Meadow out of court.

In the same month, on the actor's birthday on September 13, Meadow made her first-ever Instagram post and announced the establishment of the Paul Walker Foundation. "Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions," she wrote. "His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill."
"I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching The #PaulWalkerFoundation (@paulwalkerfdn) on his birthday. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my father," she continued.
The actor's family had previously also revealed how much he loved being a dad to Meadow in the documentary, 'I Am Paul Walker', which released on August 11. "He loved being a dad. He was so proud of her," his brother Cody, 30, had said at the time.
