Crime novelist Patricia Cornwell has cleared the air around her involvement in last week’s incident that saw a senior citizen getting violently attacked inside a Tampa-to-Atlanta Delta flight. The victim, Russell Miller, was allegedly spat on by the ex-NFL cheerleader Patricia Cornwall. But many people mistook Cornwall for author Cornwell and apparently began making “strange calls” to harrass her.

So, the 65-year-old writer took to Twitter and wrote, “Those asking. No this isn’t me.” Several of her fans then went on to support her. One person wrote, “Its terrible to get flak because names are similar to yours. Some people have obvious mental health issues and have poor judgement like this women on the plane. Shes behaving badly but social media should leave off names cause it does more damage than good for all concerned.” A second supporter tweeted, “NO she  absolutely is NOT  YOU. This is though, thanks again for your clarification.” “What a mistake! But everyone know is not @1pcornwell she is a marvelous and sweet person  just check her Twitters. That is the thing when you don't read well. Buy her books and train your minds,” a user commented.

A person said, “You were the first person that popped in my mind only because of the name. But, I knew it couldn’t be you because I knew you were better than that.” Another one added: “It is terrible when there are these errors, due to inattention, they should read and inform themselves better and know that you are absolutely not a person who does these things.” “Oh, that kind of behavior is so not you! I feel badly that some may have made that identity mistake. It would be obvious that they knew nothing about you as a person!” a tweet read.

There were many who also slammed Cornwall for her alleged violent behavior. “Ppl go out of their way 2b rude these days... & occasionally it gets them in trouble. Sometimes, it even gets them dead. Miss Cornwall's dumb stunt will cost her time & money, but it all cld have been prevented with just a little bit of human kindness fm her,” a user remarked. Another one surprisingly asked, “Wow! What is wrong with people? What ever happened to patience & love & kindness for our fellow man?”

The former Baywatch actress was arrested by the FBI for the December 23 incident after she allegedly punched the 69-year-old man. As per a criminal complaint, Cornwall went to use the plane’s loo and upon returning as she tried to get back to her seat, she was asked to take a free seat for some time since a flight attendant was serving the food.

Patricia Cornwall was reportedly responsible for December 23 incident (Walton County Sheriff's Office)

But that apparently angered her and she asked the staffer: “What am I, Rosa Parks?” while referring to “the first lady of civil rights”, who declined to leave her seat at the front of a bus in Alabama in 1955. Cornwall’s remark got the attention of Miller, who then told her she “isn't black ... This isn't Alabama and this isn't a bus”. The man also said “Sit down, Karen,” to which she replied: “Sit down p****.” After which, the altercation escalated resulting in her arrest.
