According to guidelines in many countries around the world — masks in public areas, especially while traveling in planes, are to be worn at all times. However, this Thursday, December 3, a woman had what's being called a "Karen" moment where she refused to wear a mask while on board. Turns out, when she was eventually removed from the aircraft, passengers couldn't help but applaud.

According to The Sun, the passenger was a blonde woman who didn't want to wear a mask on the Frontier Airlines aircraft that was traveling from Cincinnati, Ohio, to Tampa, Florida, this Thursday, December 3. The passenger even reportedly called the flight attendant an "a**hole" before she was removed from the premises. Videos posted on Twitter show the flight attendant request the passenger to wear her mask for the entirety of the flight.

The flight attendant can be heard saying, "Ma'am you need to have a mask on. You need to have the paper mask they provided." When the woman seemed to ignore her request, the flight attendant added, "Ma’am, I’m speaking to you. Ma’am? You have to wear your mask for the whole entire flight. If you’re unable to do so you will be removed from the flight."

The woman can be heard saying "Thanks, a**hole" to the flight attendant after the latter walked toward the front of the plane — this obviously led to the passenger being told that she was being removed from the aircraft.

The flight attendant can be heard saying, "You’re done. Let’s go. You’re getting off the aircraft. You’re done, you’re not going to speak to me like that. You have to comply. You agreed to this when you checked into our flight and when you bought your ticket so I need you to get off the aircraft at this time." More uploaded footage of the incident sees the woman passenger being approached by a security guard who asks her to leave the plane along with helping with her baggage.

Even as she left the plane, the passenger didn't wear a mask. As it goes in public places, all eyes were on the woman as she left the aircraft, with the other passengers cheering her removal. According to the publication, a passenger even yelled, "Bye Karen!"

Frontier Airlines, like most airlines, have a stone-cold rule that everyone on board are to wear masks over their noses and mouths through their entire journey on board. The rules apply to passengers when they are at ticket counters, terminals, and gates and while they are being boarded onto their aircraft.

You can watch some of the footage of the incident posted to Twitter below where a user tweeted, "Passenger kicked off ⁦@FlyFrontier⁩ flight to Tampa for refusing to wear a mask. Rules are rules." The same user added to the thread writing, "The plane erupted in applause after the mask-less woman was taken off. Someone even called her “Karen.”"
