Televangelist Pat Robertson declared that Russian President Vladimir Putin was "compelled by God" to invade Ukraine and insisted that Russia's invasion is a step towards a global "end times" battle that will take place in Israel. The 91-year-old, who stepped down as host of 'The 700 Club' in October 2021, returned on Monday, February 28, to discuss the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

The former Southern Baptist minister, who made an appearance on 'The 700 Club' on the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), said, "People say that Putin’s out of his mind. Yes, maybe so. But at the same time, he’s being compelled by God. He went into Ukraine but that wasn’t his goal. His goal was to move against Israel, ultimately." Robertson claimed that Ukraine is merely a "staging area" for one of the great Biblical armies that will gather for Armageddon in Israel. He told the viewers to "read your Bible because it's coming to pass."

This is not the first time that Robertson has warned that the end of the world is nigh. The 91-year-old previously predicted that "there is going to be a judgment on the world" in 1982, the Pacific Northwest would be devastated by a tsunami in 2006, "mass killings" would be unleashed in America in 2007, and an asteroid would destroy the earth after President Donald Trump won re-election in 2020. None of his predictions ever came true.

A Twitter user commenting on Robertson's claims wrote, "Here's another Dictator Loving Traitor needing a 1-day ticket to Russia. WTAF?!?!?" Another added, "What is it with these people and their Hard-On for the "End Times???" A third pitched in, "When you can't admit how much you hate yourself, so you just fantasize about the apocalypse for others." A fourth wrote, "So NOW they believe fate isn't made by god but man but when people wanna divert from religion its the work of the devil." Someone else added, "When you're old as hell and you don't have much of a future you pray for the end I guess."

"I wondered when this concept would rear it's ugly head. I'm not going to get into my take on revelations, or God. But this man needs to pray for his soul," commented a user. Another wrote, "God didn't make Putin invade Ukraine. God however knew it was going to happen and yes we are in the end times. I've seen how this goes down. Russia and China march against the entire world."

"What in the holy f**k is this? And why is Pat Robertson so excited about end times coming?" a Twitter user asked. Another commented, "It sure is convenient when you've lived 91 years to be 'okay' with it being end times for everyone else on earth too. If mom hadn't recently died at 91 herself, even she'd be telling this joker to go hell. She thought she'de die in WWII London, so NOT SO FAST, Buster...!"
