Has Pat Robertson switched loyalties from Trump to Biden? Mark Hamill says he 'never dreamed it was possible'
Times are changing, as Televangelist media mogul Pat Robertson accepted that President-elect Joe Biden won the election in a historic victory, which obviously didn't go down well with President Donald Trump who continues to fight the results of the election even though the Electoral College confirmed the outcome.
Robertson, who is said to have been batting for Trump, responded to reports that the Supreme Court had denied another attempt by the Trump campaign to invalidate the votes in other states. However, he didn't sound confident that Biden would be in office for long.
“I had prayed and hoped that there might be some better solution, but I don’t think — I think it’s all over,” Robertson said. “I think the Electoral College has spoken. I think the Biden corruption has not totally been brought to fruition, but it doesn’t seem to be affecting the Electoral College, and I don’t think the Supreme Court is going to move in to do anything.”
"It would be well to say, 'You've had your day. It's time to move on,'" Robertson said, addressing Trump. “I think we’re going to see a President Biden, and I also think we’ll be seeing a President Kamala Harris not too long after the inauguration of President Biden,” Robertson continued. “So just keep your eyes on the future.”
Christian Broadcasting Network correspondent George Thomas later asked Robertson if he thought Trump should run again in 2024, as he has reportedly told his allies in confidence. "I think it will be a mistake," said Robertson. "My money would be on Nikki Haley. I think she'd make a tremendous candidate for the Republican candidate. You know, with all his talent and the ability to raise money and grow large crowds, the president still lives in an alternate reality. He really does."
Robertson said that the president's behavior has been very "erratic" and that his day has gone. "People say, 'Well, he lies about this, that,' but, no, he isn't lying. To him, that's the truth," Robertson said, referring to Trump's tall claims of having a large inauguration group and being the guardian angel to NBC with his show 'The Apprentice', which Robertson emphasized are not really true.
Just back in October, Robertson had claimed that God had told him that Trump would win, and five years later "an asteroid would hit the earth". "First of all, I want to say without question, Trump is going to win the election,’’ Robertson had said. "That doesn't mean you sit home and don’t vote,” he added. “That means you get out and do everything you can to work, but he’s going to win. That’s, I think, a given.”
He had predicted "disaster" for the country, civil unrest and two murder attempts on Trump as well as a war against Israel "that would be put down by God". Following this, there would be five years of peace and then an asteroid would hit the earth, he had reportedly said.
Of course, Twitter exploded, as this was a top Evangelical leader who had said that Trump should move on. Mark Hamill tweeted, "OMG- it finally happened! I never dreamed it was possible, but Pat Robertson & I are in COMPLETE AGREEMENT. In other news: #HellFreezesOver (film at 11)." John Fugelsang tweeted, "Pat Robertson just proved that evolution exists, even in people who don't believe in evolution."
