Paris Jackson wishes grandma Katherine on her 90th birthday after her stroke shook family: 'To the Queen!'
More than a year after Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson, suffered a stroke, her granddaughter, Paris Jackson wished her a happy 90th birthday.
The 22-year-old model shared a photo of herself kissing Katherine on Instagram on Tuesday, May 5, with the caption, "To the queen." Soon many other members of her family followed suit, sharing birthday wishes for the matriarch of the family.
"She has been an inspiration to us! A great example of unconditional love and kindness! Her Godlike ways! Today she turns 90! #MondayThoughts #MondayMood #MondayMotivation #Family #Mother #MayThe4th #grateful #SendingYouLove," Michael's sister, Latoya Jackson, wrote as she captioned a picture of herself sitting with the nonagenarian.
On his account, Michael's brother, Tito Jackson, added: "Wishing my precious Mother and older brother Jackie lots of love, peace, happiness and good health," along with a picture with Katherine.
Another brother of the King of Pop, Jermaine Jackson, also got in on the action and posted a photo of his mother with three emojis.
Some of Paris' close buddies also paid tribute to her grandmother in the comments section of her post. Supermodel Naomi Campbell wrote: "Happy Birthday Katherine," while model Shaun Ross added a slew of love heart emojis.
Her birthday wishes came after Katherine was moved away from the family compound to a medical facility in January last year after she was reportedly rushed to hospital with symptoms that resembled a heart attack. At the facility, she is said to be under the constant care of "private doctors."
"Because Katherine is so frail, she has a doctor by her side almost all the time," a source told Radar Online. "She has extremely high blood pressure and a heart rhythm disorder and was also having breathing problems.”
Before being admitted to the medical facility, she battled a brain tumor and also suffered a stroke in November 2018.
“Katherine is in poor health and was moved out of the family compound because the noise and craziness became too much. She’s living with her daughter Rebbie and is being looked after by private doctors," the insider added.
The report also added that the moment Katherine reportedly landed on her presumed deathbed, all the members of the Jackson family started crowding around her to get their slice of the 'Thriller' singer’s estate, the majority of which was left to Katherine after his death in 2009.
Since Michael's death, Katherine had been sharing carer duties for Paris and her brothers, Blanket and Prince. Last year she lost guardianship of Blanket - who now goes by the name Bigi - because she was "too weak" to take care of him.
Paris, on the other hand, has always been close to her brother, even wishing him on turning 18 in February with a range of throwback pictures. "My little brother is a legal adult today. What the f**k. I used to change his diapers. This is such a trip. Proud of the handsome, intelligent, insightful, funny, and kind young man he has become. He likes privacy so that’s all I gotta say. Hbd lil bro," she wrote in the caption.
