Pamela Anderson throws shade at Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Baywatch’, calls sex tape ‘compilation of naked vacations’
Pamela Anderson did not mince words when she was asked about the 2017 Baywatch movie, an adaptation of the iconic television series starring her. It turns out that the actress did not like the film, although she made a small cameo in it.
Anderson, popularly known as C. J. Parker in the original series, during a recent episode of 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen', spilled the beans with her honest thoughts about the film, starring Dwayne Johnson.
The 52-year-old outright told Cohen: "I didn’t like it." She added: "Let’s just keep the bad TV as bad TV. That’s what’s charming about Baywatch, you know? Trying to make these movies out of television, is just messing with it."
The actress praised the television genre, saying that while many films require a sizable budget, it is easier to make do with less for television without ultimately compromising on the quality of the content.
She said: "$65 million would make a good movie. We made our show for like $500,000. You have the same explosions, the same sequences of water, that’s the fun part. Being creative."
The actress was not the only one who was not pleased with how the film turned out to be. Johnson himself took a dig at the film's low Rotten Tomatoes score shortly after its release. The film at the time was at 18 percent on Rotton Tomatoes, however, it currently stands a percentage lower at 17.
Johnson, at the time had quipped on social media, saying: "Yay positive upticks. Fans LOVE the movie. Critics HATE it. What a glaring disconnect. People just want to laugh and have fun. #Baywatch.”
It appears that even though Anderson is not a big fan of the Baywatch film, she still has a soft spot in her heart for the iconic red swimsuit. She reportedly wears it for special occasions too. The actress, in an interview with The New York Times in 2018, had revealed that sometimes she wears the one-piece swimsuit to surprise her dates.
"I jump in the shower with a bathing suit and then jump on them wherever they are in the house, soaking wet," she revealed.
The actress, during the Thursday's segment, also set the record straight for her infamous sex tape with her former husband Tommy Lee. When Cohen asked about the controversial tape in a segment called "shady sunscreen," she said that the tape was not what it was made to be.
She was asked: "As the star of a sex tape, what is your favorite celebrity sex tape?' to which Anderson replied with: "That was not a sex tape. That was a compilation of vacations that we were naked on." The 'Baywatch' star also revealed that she has s great relationship with her ex-rocker husband.
"We don't talk at all. It's perfect," she said. "No, we do… my kids are happy and that's all that matters. They have a relationship now, and that's the best part." The actress and Tommy Lee have two sons together: Brandon, 23, and Dylan, 22.
