The punishment literally torpedoing his football career.
In the trailer, we can see Palmer back in his Louisiana home, where his grandmother, played by June Squibb as well as a little boy named Sam (Ryder Allen) are eager to see him. Sam has been abandoned by his mother and is being bullied in school. Palmer finds solace in mentoring him. At the end of the trailer, Timberlake is shown getting arrested while the boy runs behind the car screaming for him.
The synopsis on IMDb reads, "An ex-convict strikes up a friendship with a boy from a troubled home,' 'Palmer' comes after Timberlake starred in the animated film 'Trolls World Tour'. It also marks singer-actor return to acting after a gap of three years. Needless to say, he has been busy with his musical career to care too much about acting or the income that he could generate from it.
