P Diddy slammed for ‘uncanceling’ Morgan Wallen and Travis Scott: 'Not a brilliant idea'
The 2022 Billboard Music Awards’ host and executive producer P Diddy aka Sean ‘Love’ Combs came under fire on the Internet after he extended his support to controversial rapper Travis Scott and disgraced country star Morgan Wallen.
The acclaimed hip-hop star told Billboard in an interview that they were uncanceling the canceled and that there was no room for judges. A few social media users dubbed the 52-year-old hip-hop icon as pathetic for his statement. For the uninitiated, this was the very first time when Scott performed at an award show following the Astroworld tragedy where 10 people died of compression asphyxia during his performance. Wallen, on the other hand, was in the headlines last year after a video of him using the n-word leaked on the Internet.

‘Canceling is a trend that needs to stop’
In an interview with Billboard, Diddy asserted, “The mood of the show is about love and forgiveness. As a musical family, none of us are saints; none of us are without things that happen to them in life.” He continued, “So one of the things I’m doing directly is un-canceling the canceled” adding, “That’s breaking news because people haven’t been about uncanceling. But canceling is a trend that needs to stop.”
Diddy continued, “Travis went through a tragedy; Morgan [used the N-word] while talking to his boy. People make mistakes. Now we’re moving on with love and respect for everybody that was hurt or affected.” He further stated, “It’s time to forgive. To have Morgan and Travis be able to come back and touch the stage again with the mindset of getting a second chance at life”. He added, “Everybody in the room is getting a second chance at life, you know, because we’re back inside with no masks on. We need love and I’m excited about celebrating that,".
‘Wish the media would cancel diddy’
Reacting to Diddy’s latest remarks, one user said, “Diddy knew about the Morgan Wallen incident and STILL let him perform in the name of love. Pathetic.” One posted, “I wish the media would cancel diddy.” The next one posted, “How big of him to be a follower and try to ride the wave lol where was he before smhhhhhh.” Whilst one added, “Yeah I mean putting Diddy in charge of producing this and him deciding that it would be his mission to get Morgan Wallen and Travis Scott uncanceled was probably not a brilliant idea.” And, another concluded, “Morgan and Travis? I see what diddy doing.”
