It’s truly the end of an era as ‘Ozark’ just released the final set of episodes on Netflix and gives us an idea about how the journey ends for the Byrde family. Since the beginning of the show, Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) have been a force to be reckoned with. They always have plans for getting out of dangerous situations and conquering the work that they are given to accomplish.

However, the final set of episodes is more focused on Wendy and how she has evolved over the years. In recent episodes, we have seen how controlling and manipulating Wendy is and she will do anything and everything to get what she wants. Who can forget the sinister smile she gave when Darlene was having a heart attack in Part One of the fourth and final season. But she takes her insanity to a whole new level in the series finale and does some things that you can’t even think of.

She brings Camilla on board to kill Omar, without telling Marty about it. The move puts everyone in danger because if Omar finds out who planned it, then Marty and Wendy would have consequences for their actions. Meanwhile, she banged her head on her car’s window until she started bleeding when her dad Nathan, tried taking her kids away from her. She also checked into a mental facility to calm herself down and said that she won’t go till the time she gets her children back, but it is just for her own benefit. She believed that if children went away, it would create a dent in her image in the society, and for her “image is everything”.

There are a lot of such instances that made people hate the character more than ever, but that’s the beauty of the character and fans understand it. Social media lauded Laura Linney’s performance, but said that her character on the show, Wendy, is a “bi***”.

One of the fans wrote, “I am never going to like Wendy again. Never ever.” Another fan tweeted, “Wendy does shit without telling anyone. Then she puts you on the spot right in front of a psycho killing machine, so you have no choice, but to agree with her. Then she looks at you, dead in the eyes, for your reaction.”

“Not even 10 minutes into the first episode of Part 2 and Wendy is already pissing me off,” wrote another fan. “Wendy is the evilest villainous b***h on this show and I vacillate between loving and hating her because she has this ability to cut through the bullshit with the precision of a surgical knife,” tweeted another one.

Meanwhile, one of the Twitter users wrote, “Five minutes into the new episode of #Ozark, and I'm ready for someone to shoot Wendy in the face.” Another user tweeted, “Wendy Byrde is everything I hate in a person, all-in-one.”

On the other hand, fans couldn’t stop praising Laura Linney for her performance and want her to win an Emmy this year.

“Give Laura Linney the Emmy, right now,” wrote one fan. “Laura Linney is such a great actress. She got me hating Wendy’s a** so much on Ozark,” tweeted another user. “Laura Linney is so brilliant, I hate her and admire her and am afraid of her all at once,” said another one.

Meanwhile, one of the fans wrote, “Just started the last season of #Ozark and so far it's brilliant. Laura Linney is masterful.” Another fan tweeted, "Laura Linney is absurdly amazing in the second half of season 4 of Ozark. Wendy Byrde knows she should’ve died 50 times already and yet she keeps thriving, so she walks around with this Macbeth-like arrogance and feeling of invincibility that Linney NAILS."
