Although we knew that Ruth (Julia Garner) is going to avenge her cousin’s death, he did not show any mercy to Javi and killed him by shooting him repeatedly. Episode 9 of ‘Ozark’ Season 4 opens with Marty and Wendy absolutely stunned after getting to know what has happened. Both the characters are nervous and thinking about what they are going to tell Omar if he gets the news of Javi’s death. They are reeling and Wendy blames Marty for his death because he couldn’t stop Ruth from killing Javi.

Wendy (Laura Linney) asks Marty why he always chooses everything else over family and why he always wants to be the “good guy”. Marty (Jason Bateman) disagrees with everything that Wendy says and they discuss everything that happened. Marty also reveals that Ruth has lost everything because of them and feels sick of having blood on his hands. However, Wendy feels exactly the opposite because Marty was the one who introduced her to this lifestyle, and now, she doesn’t want to go back.

But their lives begin to get even worse when they talk to Agent Clay, who believes that the Byrdes have now reached the place where they started from. She promises them witness protection if they are ready to testify against Omar, but they know they can’t do this. So, Wendy tells Clay to extradite Omar to Mexico. Clay believes that this is a good idea, however, it will be really difficult to do that.

Elsewhere, Ruth has finally returned home and is reunited with Baby Zeke. She goes to the police station and gives Zeke up to them. It’s time for Omar to know the truth and Wendy goes in to meet him. She tells him that the FBI thinks his nephew has disappeared and is likely dead. Omar is furious and asks her who killed him. Wendy says that she doesn’t know who did it, which makes Omar even angrier. In anger, Omar threatens Wendy that he would get all her family killed if he doesn’t get to know the name of Javi’s killer. But Omar doesn’t get to know who killed his nephew.

Wendy also talks about extradition, but Omar is still angry about the whole situation. Despite all this, Wendy tells the FBI that he is interested in the offer, which is obviously a lie.

Marty and Wendy meet Omar once again in jail where he tells them that it is difficult to run the cartel while being in prison. To our horror, Marty decides to go back to Mexico and re-establish that Mexico is in his control. However, Omar tells him to let everyone know that it was him (Omar) who ordered the hit on Javi.
