Who is the owner of Claire? Scottish Deerhound makes history at National Dog Show
A Scottish Deerhound dog from Virginia named Claire created history at the 2021 National Dog Show after she was crowned the 'Best in Show' — being the first canine in the past two decades to earn the title. The popular event is hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia every year, and Claire was the winner in last year's competition as well. “In 20 years of the National Dog Show, there’s never been a repeat champion until tonight,” commentator Mary Carillo said about Claire, whose officially registered name is GCH Foxcliffe Claire Randall Fraser.
The 4-year-old dog also won a $20,000 prize with her victory prances and skilled performance. More amazingly, Claire's grandmother preceded her feat in 2011, when she won the Best in Show title at the Westminster Dog Show. But, Claire became the first champ doggo in her family to win the feat twice in a row. “She is just truly at the top of her game," her handler Angela Lloyd remarked.

Scottish Deerhounds like Claire are a large breed of dogs who originally came from Scotland. They generally weigh between 75 to 110 lbs and can reach a height of up to 3 feet. However, they are less taller than Irish wolfhounds though their appearances are quite similar.
As for Claire, she is co-owned by three pet parents together. Aside from Angela Lloyd, Cecilia Dove and Scott Dove are the other two owners of Claire. The gorgeous canine triumphed over strong competitors like Chester the Affenpinscher, Mo’Ne the Kuvasz, MM the Lakeland Terrier, Jade the German Shorthaired Pointer, Sasha the Pyrenean Shepherd, and Winter the Bulldog this time.
"Claire, in her mind, really believes in herself and has a lot of confidence in who she is. And if you looked like her, wouldn’t you?” Claire's co-parent Lloyd said. She also added, "She’s a year older and more sure of herself."
The Thanksgiving-special event, viewed by over a quarter billion people so far, was aired on NBC on November 25. This time, it was organized at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania.
