Owen Wilson's ex slams star for not meeting his 1-year-old daughter, claiming 'it’s ironic how he gets father roles and he's never met his own'
Owen Wilson is an absent father, his ex-girlfriend Varunie Vongsvirates recently said, dropping a bombshell saying that he has never met his daughter. The 35-year-old told Daily Mail that Wilson, 50, had never met their 1-year-old Lyla. "Owen has never met Lyla. Never. He helps financially but it’s never been about that", she said.
She begged him to be more involved in her life. "Lyla needs a father. It’s ironic how [Owen] keeps getting these father roles, he's playing a father in his new movie, and he's never met his own daughter", she said.
Wilson played a father in 'Wonder' in 2017 and has four films lined up for release in the near future. He is also known to play extremely mellow and friendly characters. The couple dated for five years before heading to splitsville and Vongsvirates gave birth to their daughter Layla in 2018. "You should see your daughter, she's incredible, you're really missing out. She looks just like you", she said. Wilson has two other sons.
A source told US Weekly that he "refuses to meet his daughter." “He even checked the no visitation box in court in June… He does not want to visit [and does not] want any custody of her", the source said, adding that the child did indeed look like her dad. “The baby looks just like Owen. She has fair skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes.”
The source also added that Owen did not contact Varunie at all despite the fact that they were together for five years. He was however aware of the pregnancy from the time Varunie was 4-weeks pregnant. Wilson took a paternity test in June after Vongsvirates claimed she was pregnant. The results confirmed that he was the father.
He did talk about his sons in 2017 when he appeared on the Ellen show saying that they didn't like his jokes. “I can make a joke and it’s, like, crickets. It’s, like, nothing from those guys", he had said.
