'Still this dumb': Outrage as Chris Brown snatches and throws fan’s phone into crowd while giving lap dance

BERLIN, GERMANY: Chris Brown was recorded throwing a fan's phone into the audience during a live concert. The incident took place after Brown allowed the lucky fan to join him on stage during his performance of 'Take You Down' in concert; it was posted on TikTok on March 1.

The woman immediately pulled out her phone to record the event instead of taking it all in. At first, Brown was seen removing the phone and giving it back to her gently. After a while, she grabbed it again to keep filming, even as he danced around her and even gave her a passionate lapdance. Brown subsequently threw her phone into the crowd.

In the video, concertgoers could be seen going into a frenzy as a result of the singer's unimpressed snatching of the woman's phone and hurling it into the audience. The stage lights suddenly turned out, ending the awkward moment when the very irritated woman flung her hands in the air. Luckily, she was able to retrieve her phone, though it's unknown how it fared after flying through the air and falling into a mosh pit.

'The disrespect!!'

The video gained a lot of attention on social media, with some fans standing up for Brown and others dismissing it as yet another outburst from the divisive musician. “Listen, I totally agree that sometimes we all need to be able to put our phones down and enjoy the moment… but that’s not Chris Brown or anyone else’s decision to make,” one person tweeted. Another user said, "He could’ve most definitely handed it to someone and let her enjoy the experience he didn’t have to do that… mad extra" Another user chimed in with, "irdc what i was doing on my phone, you're not gonna dash it like mango seed. chris brown or not. Others, however, defended his actions with one user tweeting, “Lowkey i see why Chris Brown threw the phone. U mean 2 tell me imma be up here performing my heart out, giving u the best that I got and u gonna be up here checking urself out in selfie cam!? The disrespect!!” Another user added, "This generation can’t ever be in the moment. Like GIRL people were EVERYWHERE recording for you!!" Another user tweeted, "See why the crackhead dancer isn’t a good person?". One more user said, "He's still this dumb in his 30's? Just kick her off and invite someone else up".

Chris Brown is no stranger to controversies

When it comes to stirring up controversies, Brown, 33, is no stranger. The 'No Guidance' singer made news last month when Robert Glasper won a Grammy. The 'Breezy' creator captioned a screenshot of his Google search of Glasper on Instagram, "BRO WHO THE F-K IS THIS," and added, "Ima keep kicking y'all ass! Respectfully.”

A few weeks later, critics criticized Chlo Bailey, 24, for working with Brown following his long history of violence towards women. For hitting his then-girlfriend Rihanna, Brown entered a guilty plea to one count of felony assault in 2009. Less than ten years later, Karrueche Tran obtained a five-year restraining order against him because she said he started acting violently toward her after their breakup, as per Page Six.

Then, in 2021, he was charged for allegedly assaulting a woman at his Los Angeles home following an altercation. The musician, however, makes it obvious that he doesn't care what others think of him and commands them to kiss his "f-king ass" if they "still detest" him for his previous transgressions.
