At the 93rd Oscars, Riz Ahmed and his wife Fatima Farheen Mirza appeared together for the first time in Oscars and Ahmed fixing his wife's hair has all girls 'fawning' harder for him.

Riz Ahmed was nominated at the 93rd Academy Awards for the Best Actor award for his stunning portrayal of a drummer who would lose his hearing in 'Sound of Metal.' He is also the first Muslim actor to get the Grammy nod for the Best Actor category.

Who is Fatima Farheen Mirza?

Fatima Farheen Mirza is hailed as New York Times INSTANT Bestseller for her book 'A Place For Us' as the book became everyone's talking point for depicting a story of identity and belonging so realistically yet beautifully. Mirza has also divulged deeply exploring the dynamics of a devoted Muslim family residing in California in the book. Speaking of her book, the author talked about how to represent underrepresented communities. She said, "I was aware that this was an under-represented voice and I didn’t want to take advantage of it. But I couldn’t stop thinking about the characters. Once I began writing about them, they became human to me, they were not capital-letter Muslims, capital-letter post-9/11. To me it was always a story about brothers and sisters, mothers and daughters, fathers and sons – they just happened to be Muslim."

Ahmed is a 'corny' proposer

Riz Ahmed earlier shared how 'corny' his proposal to wife Mirza was in a Jimmy Kimmel interview. He said,  “I did that corny thing where I stole all the correct letters up and spelled out will you marry me?’” Mirza first replied, “You’re joking," but then said 'yes!'
