Oscars 2019: Queen and Adam Lambert get everybody on their feet as they open the 91st Academy Awards

That was one heck of a performance, only it wasn't quite the way Freddie would have done it but Lambert tried.
UPDATED FEB 25, 2019

The Academy Awards have never failed to surprise, and this time, in their attempt to bring about a change in the age-old traditions of the ceremony, the Academy Awards completely did away with its usual opening monologue. Instead, we had an Adam Lambert- Brian May rendition of some of Queen's best songs which also included 'We Are The Champions'. Well, that is quite a leap for a change- earlier it would be 'We Will Rock You', and now it's a leap to 'We Are The Champions'.

Looks like Lambert is not being able to pull himself off Queen, ever since the singer made a cameo at the band's biopic last year, 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Starring Rami Malek as the band's lead singer, Freddie Mercury, the film received immense support from the entire Queen family including Brian May and Roger Taylor, both of who showed their support for the film by being present on the set itself. Now, as May took the stage at the 91st Academy Awards, he was accompanied by Lambert. The former runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol is known to have previously been accompanied by Brian May and Roger Taylor in 2009 when the pair appeared as guests on the season followed by a second collaboration at the 2011 MTV Europe Awards.
