LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: AMC's latest sci-fi thriller, 'Orphan Black: Echoes' takes viewers on a fascinating journey as Lucy (Krysten Ritter) confronts the mysteries of her past.

The drama series, created by Anna Fishko, is based on the Canadian hit show 'Orphan Black,' originally developed by John Fawcett and Graeme Manson.

This pilot episode sets the stage for upcoming high-octane action and profound revelations as Lucy embarks on a mission to discover her true identity in the series.

What happened in 'Orphan Black: Echoes' Episode 1?

After a procedure, Lucy wakes up confused and unable to remember who she is. She becomes nervous when Dr Kira Manning (Keeley Hawes) starts asking questions instead of providing answers about the treatment.

After an orderly sedates her, Lucy finds herself in an almost deserted warehouse from where she eventually manages to break free.

Two years later, in 2052, though troubled by her murky past, Lucy lives with a young girl named Charlie (Zariella Langford) and maintains a romantic relationship with her father, Jack (Avan Jogia).

Following an incident in an apple orchard, Lucy lands at a hospital, where a series of events triggers, which ends up with a stranger trying to kidnap her from her camper and uncovering enigmatic symbols on her arm.

In an attempt to save Lucy, Charlie shoots the man, facilitating a narrow escape. Later, Lucy visits Craig (Jonathan Whittaker), who warns her against delving into her past.

On the other hand, Kira defends Lucy, while the Additive Foundation debates the ramifications of her actions. More flashbacks occur when Lucy finds Jules Lee (Amanda Fix) in a place she finds through her attacker's phone.

Even though Jules insists she doesn't know Lucy, their interactions and similar scars suggest a more intimate relationship between them.

At gunpoint, Lucy forces Jules into her pickup truck as the episode comes to an end.

What to expect from 'Orphan Black: Echoes' Episode 2?

The next episode promises to be filled with high-octane drama and action as Lucy attempts to interrogate Jules to uncover the significance of their shared scar and potential connection.

This could lead to a confrontation, an attempted escape, or an uneasy partnership between the two women. Jules might provide information about the procedure, the Additive Foundation, or their goals.

Lucy might attempt to infiltrate the Additive Foundation to gather more information and could also confront Kira, demanding answers about her past.

Additionally, the following episode may dive deeper into Kira's role in Lucy's past and the reason for her regret. It's conceivable she feels terrible about something, which may lead her to try to help Lucy.

When is 'Orphan Black: Echoes' Episode 2 releasing?

The next episode, titled 'Jules,' will premiere on Sunday, June 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on AMC+. John Fawcett will direct the episode, and Sharyn Rothstein will write it.

Similar to the first episode, the second episode will last 41–48 minutes.
