Orlando Bloom kept skeleton of his pet dog and its penis as an ornament: 'I still get to say goodnight to him'
Losing a pet is a heartbreaking experience for anyone and it leaves people holding on to every possible memory of their beloved pet.
Around three years ago, Orlando Bloom, was so overcome with grief that he was unable to say bye to his dog Sidi when the pooch died. He went to extreme lengths in order to keep his pet as close to him as possible. The actor contacted a company that would strip the dog down to its bones so that Bloom could keep it in the house.
The 'Pirates of the Carribean' star shared that he felt like he really had to do it and posted a picture of the finished article on his Instagram. He had captioned the image, "Man's best friend... when you can't let go."
While speaking to Dogs Monthly about the passing of his dog, he said, "(Sidi) was a great companion and I was very upset when he died. I had his skeleton mounted so that he stays with me."
"I know that sounds a little odd to some people, but it is quite tastefully done and I still get to say goodnight to him," he added. As reported by the Daily Star, he had also shared, "I just couldn't stand the fact that he was just not going to be around anymore." He had also decided to keep the dog's private parts as an ornament.
Bloom revealed, "They asked me if I wanted to keep the penis. What do you think I said? Yes! Actually aesthetically it didn't look quite right, so I have it on the side."
Recently, Bloom's fiance Katy Perry revealed that she and Bloom bring out the best in each other by pulling out the 'poison'. While speaking to Vogue, Perry shared, "Orlando is like a sage. When we first met, he said we would pull the poison out of each other, and we really do. It's exhausting, but we really hold each other accountable."
