One Direction may not be holding a ten-year reunion after all.

After several rounds of teasing and angering Zayn Malik fans with his joke about having him be replaced, Liam Payne's claims of a One Direction reunion to celebrate their ten-year anniversary in July have been debunked by bandmate Niall Horan.

Speaking in an Instagram Live with Cobra Puma Golf UK on Wednesday, April 29, Niall was finally asked about the rumored reunion. But instead of confirming the event like fans might have hoped he would, the 26-year-old 'Black and White' singer laughed it off, saying, "I get asked this quite a lot lately...I’ve got a good answer coming here."

He then answers with a clear "No" before adding, "There’s just a lot of talk about it at the moment cause there’s...the ten year anniversary of the band getting together is happening this year."

When asked if it felt like a decade had already passed between their debut and now, Niall stated, "Absolutely not, it’s nuts, it’s strange...Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday, other times it feels like fifty years ago."

He then circled back to the reunion, stating "There’s been a lot of talk about it but there’s no reunion as such...We’ve just been talking a bit more recently."

Fans were already trolling Liam by claiming he was simply using the band's reunion rumors to gain clout, but Niall's recent interview has kicked the trolling into overdrive.

One fan tweeted, "I knew it was liam wanting the attention as his career has flopped," another said, "So Liam lied for clout? WE-" and one fan stated, "NOT LIAM PAYNE LYING FOR ATTENTION LMFAOOOO."

A few fans were happy there wouldn't be a reunion, tweeting "Good we don’t need it Harry, and Zayn are better solo . Niall is cute solo as well!"

Some fans pointed out that Liam never stated there was a reunion, tweeting "He never said they were having a reunion hun. he said they had plans for their 10 year anniversary. stop making up lies. because he never lied in the first place." Another fan said, "Liam NEVER said there was a reunion happening, he said they may have plans," to which a fellow One Directioner responded, "But they dont have plans and he knew that jist needed some attention."

Liam himself stated in a separate interview that there was no reunion, despite hinting at the group doing something special for their anniversary, stating "I don’t see anything happening right now." One fan joked, "Guys relax, louis told him off remember? he has to lay low for a bit and not spill too much tea," referring to a previous interview Liam gave in which he stated bandmate Louis Tomlinson told him off for revealing too much about their upcoming plans.
