Olivia Wilde and Margaret Zhang wear same dress to Met Gala 2023, internet asks 'if both shop at Walmart'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Twinning nightmare! Actress Olivia Wilde and Margaret Zhang, editor-in-chief of Vogue China, encountered a fashion faux pas after they were spotted wearing the same dresses on the red carpet of the 2023 Met Gala on May 1. The duo dressed in the vintage-inspired Chloe dress, drawing inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld's 1983 design but ending up unexpectedly matching, albeit in different colors.
The 'Don’t Worry Darling' director, 39, showcased an angelic long white dress featuring side cutouts, a turtleneck neckline, and a guitar-shaped gold embellishment on the front. Conversely, Zhang, 29, donned a black version of the same outfit.

Fashion faux pas or trendsetting statement?
Every year the annual event is held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, with the purpose of raising funds for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. Although both Wilde and Zhang added their own individual flair to their respective looks.
Wilde styled her blonde curtain bangs in a carefree manner, swept off her face, and cascaded down her shoulders, allowing her dangling earrings to be prominently displayed. She accessorized her dress with gilded wristbands and a gold clutch, completing her stunning look. Zhang chose a black canvas for her attire, allowing her electric blue hair, styled in a sharply angled lob, to stand out against the dark background. Additionally, she decided to pair the outfit with a cape that flowed from the back of the frock, adding an extra touch of elegance to her ensemble.
'Both dresses are fugly….!'
As soon as fans noticed that both stars were sporting the same ensemble, they flocked to social media to share their thoughts. One user wrote, "Olivia must have been horrified hahahahaha." Another one added, "And both dresses are fugly…." A user commented, "Weird, who knew they both shopped at Walmart." A user chimed in, "And both look like menstrual pads! okay!" One user simply said, "Yikes." Another user shared a gif of the iconic gold and blue dress. A fifth one claimed, "I thought all the outfits were approved beforehand. Someone’s in trouble." "Olivia Wild is always trending for the wrong reasons," read a tweet.
