Olivia Paige "Livvy" Dunne is an American social media sensation, artistic gymnast, and 'SI Swim' star. She has over 12 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, making her the most followed college athlete. She recently revealed why she doesn't pay attention to her massive follower count.

She is a former USA national team member and current member of the LSU Tigers women's gymnastics team. Dunne's social media massive following has resulted in seven-figure endorsement deals for her name, picture, and likeness.

'Look at your engagement on social media'

Dunne spent a day in Nashville speaking with many of the top college football recruits in the Class of 2024 at the On3 NIL Elite Series. During the conversation, she mentioned how the previous year provided her with several fantastic opportunities.

Dunne said, "To keep (the momentum) going, you have to be consistent. Look at your engagement on social media. That’s something that I find very important with my audience— seeing how they engage with my posts, because that’s what brands look at too."

When it comes to building a social media profile, Katherine, her mother, expressed identical feelings. She said, "Be willing to show a little bit more of yourself than just your sport. I think that brands really connect with you as a person. They like to see who you are, and what your values are, and what you stand for."

Dunne believes that "showing more than your sport" entails being at ease with being uncomfortable. She admitted that it was difficult at first.

Olivia Dunne tries to understand her audience

However, when it comes to building her brand, she emphasizes that followers will arrive once they see her profile. It all comes down to participation. Dunne focuses on understanding her audience, what they are saying in the comments, how many people are looking at a certain article, and how her writings reflect her personality, values, and hobbies, according to OUTKICK's report.

But her work never stops. Dunne has constructed a media empire that will take her far beyond her tenure in Baton Rouge, and she has no plans to reduce her reliance on social media anytime soon.
