How did OJ Simpson get Covid-19 vaccine? Viral photo sparks outrage: ‘Weird to see OJ being stabbed for once’
OJ Simpson is on Twitter and he got a coronavirus vaccination in Las Vegas on Friday, January 29, 2021. Unbelievable, right? Nicknamed “The Juice”, Simpson is a former football running back, actor and convicted felon. It was quite a shock when the 73-year-old posted a photo of himself getting the Covid-19 shot with the caption: “Get your shot. I got mine!!!”
The picture, which shows him getting a jab in his left upper arm, soon went viral with over 3,000 retweets and 30,000 likes. In the picture, the nurse can be seen wearing protective gloves, a white lab coat, a surgical mask and a clear plastic face shield. As expected, it drove a lot of hate comments and sparked massive outrage on the micro-blogging site. One of the most common responses to that was: “Weird to see OJ being stabbed for once.”

How did OJ Simpson get a vaccine?
No sooner was the photo shared, the number one question on most minds was: How did Simpson manage to get that vaccine? According to New York Post, Simpson’s lawyer, Malcolm P LaVergne, said his client got access to the shot due to his age. “If you’re 70-plus, you’re eligible for the shot — you can schedule your shot and they’ll do it,” the lawyer said, adding, “There’s no favoritism with him being a celebrity — that has nothing to do with his getting the shot.”
Referring to the tweet that quickly caught attention, LaVergne said it wasn't meant to be sarcasm or jibe. “He has a pretty substantial Twitter following — this is him telling everyone, trying to motivate people, to get their shot,” he said. “He’s getting his shot at the earliest possible opportunity and he’s urging everyone as a matter of public service to please get yours, too.”
‘OJ Simpson got the vaccine before disabled people’
Despite the clarification by Simpson's lawyer, the outrage has only doubled up. In 1994, Simpson was arrested and charged with the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman. After a lengthy and scandalized trial, he was acquitted by a jury but the controversy hasn't died down.
Later, he was again arrested in 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada for armed robbery and kidnapping. A year later, in 2008, he was sentenced to 33 years' imprisonment, with a minimum of nine years without parole. No doubt, seeing him getting a vaccine for the deadly virus that has taken millions of lives infuriated many.
“Yeah that's just what I want to see, OJ Simpson getting his vaccine before my elderly Dad and immune compromised me,” one reply to the tweet read. Another Twitter user said, “They said, 'OJ Simpson got the vaccine before disabled people who haven't brutally murdered their wives. great'.” A third wrote, “Sure... I interact with about 60 teenagers in my classroom several times throughout the week and the state has said they are no longer prioritizing teachers after forcing us to return in person before vaccines were administered... but thank God OJ Simpson is protected!”

The next question floating around on social media was why does OJ Simpson have a Twitter account. According to his bio, he joined in 2019 and it reads, “Hello Twitter World, It’s Yours Truly. If you don’t see it here, I didn’t say it.”
