Legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has dismissed Kanye West’s claim of originating the idea for ‘Django Unchained’. Singer-songwriter Kanye West is widely regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop musicians of this generation and has given a lot of extraordinary tunes. However, he recently made a remark that stunned everyone and forced Tarantino to come forward to quash all the rumors.

Ye claimed that he actually pitched the idea for ‘Django Unchained’ to Tarantino and the film’s lead actor Jamie Foxx. During his interview with Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Uncensored, the ‘Stronger’ hitmaker noted that Tarantino and Foxx stole the idea from a pitch he made to the aforementioned personalities as a concept for a music video.

West’s statements prompted Tarantino to clear the air and share his thoughts on the matter. While making an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, the iconic filmmaker clearly stated that the comments made by the musician are not true and didn’t shy away from saying that West never came up with this idea on which ‘Django’ is based. He added, “Okay well, there's no truth to the idea that Kanye West came up with the idea of Django, and then he told it to me and I went, 'Oh wow, that's a really great idea! Lemme take Kanye's idea and make Django Unchained out of it.' That didn't happen.”

However, the ‘Once Upon a Time In Hollywood’ filmmaker did have an interesting story to tell about his meeting with West and that included a pitch for a music video that he wanted to do. He said, “We met each other and had a really good time. He did have an idea for a video… that he would be a slave and that the whole thing was the slave narrative where he was singing Gold Digger. That's what he's referring to.”

As soon as Tarantino’s comments surfaced online, social media users started trolling Kanye West for his immature statements and said that they don’t even believe that the musician came up with this idea. One of the fans wrote, “Yeah didn’t believe for a minute that Kayne came up with the idea for Django.” Another social media user wrote, “He ain’t even have to deny it, nobody believed bro for a second.”

Meanwhile, another user joked that West will now claim that he also wrote the script for ‘Titanic’. The user wrote, “Kanye is on a roll haha next he’ll say he wrote the script for Titanic.” Another user said, “We know, Quentin. We know.”

“It's baffling that people would believe it anyway but here we are,” wrote another user.

In recent months, the musician has been facing a lot of backlash for his comments, especially the anti-Semitic ones. The last two weeks have been really difficult for Ye as he lost his talent representation, and even went to damage some really good relationships in the music industry. Most importantly, several big brands have also cut their ties with him following anti-Black and anti-Semitic comments.

Adidas ended its 250 million Euros partnership with the rapper and as soon as the brand left West, he lost his billionaire status and is no longer on Forbes’ billionaires' list. Apart from that, the talent agency CAA has dropped him and he is no longer associated with Def Jam as well.

This is one of the most crucial moments of West’s career and it’s painful to see such an amazing artist going this way and saying things that are not just hurtful, but racist as well.
