SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: The suspect arrested for the murder of Cash App founder Bob Lee, 43, has been identified as Nima Momeni. Similar to Lee, the suspect is a tech industry worker although the slain tycoon was considerably more successful in his career. Momeni is also related to Dino Elyassnia, one of San Francisco’s top plastic surgeons, who allegedly lives with the former’s sister, the Daily Mail reported.

The San Francisco Police Department arrested Momeni on Thursday, April 13, in the town of Emeryville, located across the San Francisco Bay from the city where Lee was murdered on April 4. The suspect allegedly knew Lee and even shared a car ride with him shortly before the murder. The two men were reportedly together in a vehicle registered in Momeni’s name, as per Mission Local. Officials allege that Momeni stabbed Lee multiple times with a knife that was found near the spot on the 300 block of Main Street where authorities initially responded, the outlet noted.

Who is Nima Momeni?

Momeni, 38, is a tech industry professional, who was recently arrested by the San Francisco Police Department, for the suspected murder of Cash App founder Bob Lee. According to his LinkedIn profile, Momeni is the owner of Expand IT, a group of “local expert enterprise IT professionals dedicated to providing solid, reliable and efficient technology solutions & cost effective support services to our valued SMB and Enterprise Client.”

As part of his profile bio, Momeni described himself as a “dedicated technology partner since 2005, supporting a variety of client vertical markets in Healthcare, Finance, High Tech/Startup, Technology, Manufacturing and Service sectors.” He previously worked as a system/network engineer at Marfic, IT admin/consultant at Coast Range IT, and as a consultant at Diablo IT, SPOC, and others before establishing his own firm.

Momeni’s profile also states that he previously attended Vista College, Laney College, and UC Berkeley. He is fluent in Farsi in addition to English. The suspect is reportedly listed to be living in a two-bedroom smart condominium in Emeryville, which Zillow estimated to be worth around $703,000, the Daily Mail noted. He is also related to Dino Elyassnia, one of the top plastic surgeons in San Francisco specializing in facial rejuvenation and nose job procedures. Although not much is known about the connection between the two men, Elyassnia reportedly lives with Momeni’s sister Khazarm and the pair might likely be married, the publication mentioned.

Bob Lee’s ex-wife confirmed news of Nima Momeni’s arrest

On Thursday, April 13, Lee’s ex-wife Krista confirmed the news of Momeni’s arrest but said that authorities are yet to find a possible motive behind the Cash App founder’s slaying, as per the publication. Lee moved from San Francisco to Miami prior to his murder to escape the crime-riddled neighborhood but returned to his former town to attend a conference. Lee and Krista parted ways before the former’s death but she also relocated to Florida to stay close to their children.

While Lee and Momeni reportedly took a car ride together shortly before the former’s murder, it is not known if the suspect attended the same conference as the victim. No other detail about the relationship between Lee and Momeni has been made available to the public so far. Bob Lee was stabbed multiple times in his chest on April 4 during a business trip in San Francisco.

Security footage later showed the business tycoon attempted to stop several cars on the street but failed to receive local help. He later called 911 himself but was pronounced dead by the time officials arrived at the scene. “The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts by first responders and medical personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries,” the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement.
