SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: A mysterious person was seen dragging a suitcase around the area where Bob Lee was stabbed to death. On Tuesday, April 4, Lee, 43, was stabbed twice in the chest and later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The mysterious individual, who was dressed from head to toe in black, was seen checking flowerbeds in the same downtown San Francisco street where the stabbing occurred, according to CCTV footage obtained by Daily Mail. Police have refrained from commenting on whether the stranger was a potential suspect or person of interest in the murder. There is no confirmation if the Cash App founder's belongings, including a suitcase, were stolen. A representative for the San Francisco Police Department said that although detectives were aware of the security camera footage, the specifics could "affect the integrity of the investigation."

What was captured on surveillance footage?

The surveillance video shows Lee, chief product officer at cryptocurrency company MobileCoin, stumbling along Main Street and attempting to wave down a passing car at the crossroads with Harrison Street. When the driver suddenly leaves without offering assistance, Lee walks 70 yards back down Main towards the Portside apartment complex, but falls as he reaches for the door entry system.

Footage captured less than a minute late on a second camera showed the unidentified person emerging from the east side of Harrison Street, glancing Lee's way and then hastily crossing Main Street in the direction of the west. The person, who looks to be wearing a scarf or mask over the lower portion of their face, was seen pushing a dark carry-on suitcase while holding a smaller bag in the other hand.

The person briefly disappeared after crossing the street, then was spotted 50 seconds later loitering at the northwest corner of Main and Harrison and checking over a nearby row of flowerbeds. In another shot, they were seen stooping down many times, but because the camera was so far away, it was unclear if anything was picked up. A few minutes before cops arrived to save Lee, the person turns around and walks away from the intersection at 2.38 am.

What is progress have been made in the case?

The San Francisco Police Department said, "The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts by first responders and medical personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries." A kitchen knife with a four-inch blade was discovered in a parking lot across the street, according to ABC7 News. Police have not yet made any arrests.

Police reportedly stated, "This is all very fluid. It's still an active and open investigation. We want to assure everyone that investigators are working diligently and doing the best they can to bring justice for Mr. Lee and his loved ones." Police are requesting anyone with information to contact them at 415-575-4444, the SFPD tip line.
